So you think you want a government managed health care system? Do you really know what you are asking for? Let me tell you about how it works just north of the American border...
Someone very close to me in Canada started having pain in a hand last month. The family doctor said it was probably a pinched nerve and said do not elevate the arm above the head and take over the counter pain medication. Two week later the pinky finger and the one next two it were paralyzed. An eight hour wait to see a doctor at the emergency room resulted in a prescription for the same medication given for epilepsy and a referral to see a neural specialist. Two days ago this person received a letter for the appointment...in August. Now the whole hand is paralyzed and one finger is changing color and the person is in extreme pain...such that no over the counter medication will help. And there is not one gotdam thing to do except go back to the family doctor and ask (and hope) for some strong pain medication and then wait until August.
Yes, my friends...this is what you get when you have the government running your health care system. Rationed care based on cost rather than on need. Is this what you want? I don't. The United States has the best medical care on earth...and anyone who tells you that 'poor' people cannot get medical care are just telling you a damn lie. Medicade and emergency rooms provide this care. The majority of those middle class who are uninsured are uninsured out of choice. The push for the health care plan is not about better medical care...it is about government being able to control 20% of the economy. And it looks like it is going to pass congress. DAMN.

But I have my doubts that such action will stop this from ever happening again. The military brass from the CINC down are too gotdam worried about being politically correct! It started decades ago with the mandatory 'sensitivity training' and now is to the point that the military is too gotdam afraid of offending women or any particular race or religion. The only ones that can be chastised without fear of political flack are WASPs...yeah pick on the white male while the ragheads blow people away. GOOD GOD GIRTY WHUT A GASH!
