Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and enjoyed a harvest feast with loved ones. We had a wonderful holiday and a scrumptious Thanksgiving meal.
I'm knee-deep in Christmas decorations, so I've decided to re-publish a few of my older Christmas posts this week. Today's post was originally published back in December of 2011 -- my very first year of blogging. I did a little bit of editing to the original post and if you haven't seen this one yet, I hope you thoroughly enjoy it. My husband and I had paid a visit to Replacements Ltd., in November of that year to pick up some dishes we'd purchased, and while we were there Hal took some photos of their marvelous Christmas displays. Their Christmas dishes and accessories were swoon worthy!
ORIGINAL POST: This post is for dishaholics everywhere. We made a trip to Replacements, Ltd., today, and I just had to share these pictures with all of you. The store is just outside of Greensboro, and it takes us about an hour to get there. We've been several times before, but never at Christmas; and oh my goodness, I couldn't believe the decorations and gorgeous displays. They always have beautiful things, but this was some serious eye candy. We took so many pictures, I'll have to make this a two-part post. I wanted to share the Christmas pictures this evening for Seasonal Sundays, so here goes. You can find Part 2 of the tour Here.
This pretty scene was just inside the entrance, but I was so distracted with getting to the goods, I didn't see it until we were leaving. :) A woman on a mission.
These dishes were on a large display table, front and center, in the place of honor. I've never seen this pattern, but it's truly gorgeous. It's called "Christmas Rose", by Spode. We tried to get pictures of the tags with the names and the prices (yikes!). The beautiful red crystal stemware is Waterford. I love these placemats. They used them for most of the Christmas settings, and they're Lenox.
Another view of the table setting.
These beautiful jingle bell ornaments are silver plate with the year engraved on each one. They're made by different silversmiths, such as Reed and Barton, and Wallace.
This next group of sterling coffee/tea services is something to behold. Be sure to behold those price tags as well. :)
I would love to do a tea cup Christmas tree! I think the harlequin ribbon on this tree is fabulous.
Fancy an upside down Christmas tree, anyone? :)
This miniature tree was for sale, fully decorated for $189.95.
"Old Britain Castles" Christmas dishes. Notice the pretty pink and gold Christmas balls in the crystal stemware. I'm guessing someone had a lot of fun creating these displays.
These next set of dishes are a Portmeirion Christmas pattern.
Lenox "Winter Greetings".
I love this Fitz and Floyd plate with the pastel green border and Santa with the woodland animals -- so sweet.
These lovely snow globes are stocking hangers, along with more of the Spode "Christmas Rose" pieces.
More of the Spode "Christmas Rose" serving pieces.
For just under $600, you could have a Spode "Christmas Rose" tea set. ;)
Love these Christmas tree confections.
This Nativity set really is exquisite.
These are Waterford crystal candlesticks on the silver tray.
The store has a whole section devoted to Christmas ornaments and collectibles.
This is such a cute "Rudolph" hors d'ouvres set. ;)
My mother-in-law and sister-in-law collect these Byers Choice carolers.
Another upside down tree...
There was so much to see here, it was sensory overload.
I hope you enjoyed seeing Replacements Ltd. at Christmas (2011). I'm hoping to visit there again in a few weeks, and it will be interesting to see how they've decorated this year. Thank you so much for stopping by House at Forest Manor. Your interest and comments are always much appreciated!
