Right Here, Right Now

We have finally had some lovely spring like weather this week.

What I'm wearing... denim capris and a white shirt. Both are covered with many different colors of paint. I've been painting today. No socks or shoes but my feet are splattered with white and gray paint!

What I'm reading... I am almost finished with Little House in the Big Woods. Next up will be Girl on a Train, which is our book club's next book.

What's outside my window... Sunshine! We set the clocks ahead last night so I expect it will be sunny and light until at least 6:00 tonight. The snow is all gone except for one small bit behind the storage shed in the backyard. It doesn't get much sun back there... which could explain why nothing I plant there does very well. I'm thinking it would be a good place for my grands and I to build a fairy garden.

What's happening in my kitchen... So much... and none of it has to do with food preparation! Today we painted the new cabinet and its shelving, the jelly cupboard and its shelving, the ceiling and floor trim. We also touched up some previously painted spots that needed it. Sweet hubby built two shelves for my cookbooks and mason jars. (Don't tell him, but I thinking about asking to build a third shelf.) Someone is coming on Tuesday to measure for the countertop... that's exciting as it's the last big thing to go in. Oh, and we finally decided on lights for the sink area. Now we just have to find lights to go over the new cabinet area. Who knew lights could be so hard?

What I'm thankful for... A talented, very patient and very, very adaptable hubby who is willing to try just about anything.

What I'm smelling... The smell of spring! And paint...

What I'm hearing... The wind chimes on the front porch, Journey playing on Pandora, the neighbor's grands riding their bicycles and playing outside. The sounds of spring!

What I'm crafting... Still working on that last Twiddle Muff. It's almost done. Most of my crafting mojo is spent painting and making kitchen decisions!

What's on my mind... Gardening... I'm thinking about starting my own plants from seed this year. I need to decide soon and get started if I'm going to try it.
