(A) Just put all the pieces together using your best of knowledge, assuming the pieces are already screwed in properly and ready for use
(B) Panic when figuring out the pieces weren't screwed in properly, and continue to lift the blender off the base, despite the fluid beginning to pour out the bottom of it
(C) Go from panic to full distraught mode when contents begin to pour out the bottom of said blender, and then continue to lift the blender portion up, without first moving it to the sink or under a large bowl that can readily catch the escaping pureed ingredients
(D) All of the Above
Let's just say, it was a good thing my mother-in-law was here for a visit for this debachle. She was able to keep me in the laugh-at-myself-for-being-an-idiot mode and graciously offered to spend the time helping clean up the mess as well as meticulously cleaning out the brand new, now filthied, blender with a few toothpicks and a few rags.
Long lesson short- don't use a new appliance without at least glancing over the included instructions and ensuring said appliance is properly assembled and ready for use...
