As soon as the summer heats sets in and everyone starts to get excited about swimming, vacations, popsicles, and tans, I start to get super giddy about my favorite time of the year, fall. I start to imagine days filled with falling leaves, kettle corn, sweatshirts, and curling up on the couch with a cup of hot chocolate watching classic horror movies. But most of all I get excited for Halloween! Is it bad that I've already spent hours trying to figure out mine and the husband's costumes for the coming holiday? Well last year I was watching a special on the scariest places to go during Halloween. It featured haunted houses and amusement parks. One of the haunted houses had a girl with the coolest getup on that I was craving to emulate. The costume had a sort of circus meets Alice in Wonderland meets punk meets doll look going on. Crazy big hair, mismatched contacts, vibrant colors, and a hint of psycho. I loved it! But of course, as usual I waited till the very last minute to get my costume together and with my limited funds this was the best I could come up with.

Although I was very proud of my slit neck, my costume was not really what I had envisioned. Well I am not waiting for the last minute again this year. So I was talking to a friend about costumes and I was talking around what I wanted when she mentioned how some people she knew dressed up like circus characters last year and I thought perfect! We'll be vintage circus characters. So for myself I was thinking I would be a bearded lady. This would be the first year in a while that I'm not planning on using blood or guts, so I needed something to use my makeup skillzzz. Why not use it for applying a beard?? Haha, love it! For the husband I think we might go with him being the ringmaster. I've already started looking for clothes I can alter into the perfect costumes. Once I find them I will post them.
